In 'John Wick' (2014), after the eponymous hitman (Reeves) refuses to sell his car to Russian gang leader Iosef (Alfie Allen), the gang members break into his home and kill his dog, a gift left to him by his late wife Helen (Bridget Moynahan). Lionsgate provided us with a copy of the John Wick Chapter 2 Blu-ray for this review.Double bill of action thrillers starring Keanu Reeves as a former hitman who must return to the criminal world he left behind in order to seek revenge. If you weren't completely onboard, then I would have to say you're safe skipping the second outing. If you love the first film, pick up the John Wick Chapter 2 Blu-ray. The lack of revenge definitely makes all of this feel very different. ![]() And the film itself is a difficult one to judge due to slight tonal shift as to why Wick is going on this mission. These features definitely dive deep, but they aren't going to move the needle for you at all in regards to your enjoyment. On the other hand, if you're just a casual fan of the series, then it becomes a bit more difficult to recommend. The depth of information from the audio commentary to the various training features provide a wealth of information of just how much work it takes to put these films together. If you're a fan of the John Wick films, the bonus features alone are enough to make this Blu-ray a must-have purchase.
